[manga] No longer M.I.A

Due to Exam week, haven’t been posting for several weeks. Now it’s over, so back to blogging again. Been procrastinating by reading manga for the past week. Some of the ones I’m catching up on (other than obligatory regular fixes such as FMA, Claymore etc) include The World God Only Knows and the Magical Index spin-off, To Aru Kagaku no Choudenjibou.

The World God only Knows
A manga that’s approved by /jp/, unsurprisingly, The plot’s also somewhat different from the usual parody genres ( i.e Hayate no Gotoku, Lucky Star etc). A prodigy is bored with the world and encounters a demon. No, this is not Death Note. Well… if Light and Lelouch decided to be dating sims otaku… …

This is one manga that I’d love to see being adapted into an anime. I can already imagine the result: Jun Fukuyama going “keikaku doori da ze!”. Oh what do you know, this plot scenario might just be the answer to Yagami Light’s God complex.

Highly recommended if you’re looking for a simple but hilarious manga. 8/10 as of chapter 50

To Aru Kagaku no Choudenjibou

The spin-off’s much more interesting. Touma’s actually genuinely funny in the spin-off – perhaps the fact that we don’t need to hear his Emiya Shirou monologue is a crucial reason. The only pity is there’s no Himegami Aisa- no awesome deadpan one-liners in this spin-off. Yet another one which I can’t wait to see it being made into anime.

8/10 as of chapter 16.

  1. Welcome back. :)
If memory serves, the anime of To Aru Kagaku no Choudenjibou is coming out in October. I haven’t read the manga yet, but I loved Index so I’m really looking forward to it. ^^ The World God only Knows looks hilarious too. I’m going to give both a try.

  2. they have a new song up on that typing website.a tribute to micheal jackson…which is bloody hard song

  3. That first one looks mighty interesting. I’m always on the prowl for a manga with good laughs, so I should probably give it a shot.
