So, at around 5pm, the staffs started packing the chairs away and clearing the stage area to prepare for the concert. While all these were going on, Gundam 00 OP was being lopped continuously on the screen– can’t they at least play some Macross tracks? Come to think of it, the only point of time in which Macross Frontier was being mentioned was during the concert.
Minutes before the concert the Diamond people were chanting “May’n! May’n! May’n! ”
People in the VIPs were (deliberately) going “Ranka! Ranka! Ranka!”
which became “Go to Ranka!”
which eventually became….
(you guessed it)
“Go to DMC !!!”
And finally, finally, at around 7pm, the concert began with May’n entering the stage, clad in white, sending all the fanboys roaring “Deculture!” while the fangirls were all screaming in hysteria and having multiple heart attacks. Biggest lol was when two Rinka cosplayers in the Diamond area went up the stage for the handshake and were greeted by the collective “whoa~~!!! Rival clashing!” from the audience. Fandom is one strange creature that constantly bemuses me. True, the concert isn’t 100% perfection, and the duration is rather short. Nevertheless, it was certainly memorable and I enjoyed it (more so than the convention, at the very least).
Iteza Gogo Kuji Don’t be late ~~ !!!
And of course, there is the off-stage dramu in which some fans were unhappy with certain aspects of it. You know what I’m talking about. Fandom sometimes scares me. A lot.
