There are many irreversible phases of being in the anime fandom, one of which is when you find that the local anime stores can no longer satisfy you, be it due to lack of variety, inability to get intended rarer products or other varied reasons. That’s when you take the next step: purchasing the merchandise online! Yep, I’ve just taken that new step by ordering the Saber in Tuxedo Costume and pre-ordering the June release Saber Lily Avalon. And as of writing this, the former order has already been delivered to me (actually, it’s arrived for about a week, but I was too lazy to make a post about it till now lol ).
Featuring the famous Saber from Fate Stay/Night, this particular figure is based on its prequel, Fate/Zero.
Seeing as how my figurine collection is slowly growing (about 10 in my collection so far) and I’m kind of into photography anyway, I thought I’ll start on Figurine-Photography as well. But since I’ve only started recently, it’s still amateurish and unlike the other pros, I don’t have fabulous piles of backgrounds to play around with. I found Danny’s method of using his Mac and workplace itself as the setting a great idea, however my own room’s lighting just isn’t as good as his.
Saber with a somewhat different hairstyle and a new costume, giving her a brand new image. Cool, suave and yet cute at the same time, slick black business suit and her Excalibur at hand, this sure is somewhat different from the other Saber figs.
Well, it’s by Max Factory so I don’t have much to complain except perhaps that the shoulder joint could have been much smoother. On the overall, it sure is detailed, like the folds of the clothing’s, for example.
I like the semi-transparent Excalibur. A slight complain: the sword slips out somewhat easily– no problem as long as you don’t touch it.
The stand is pretty cool too, one of those where the stand isn’t just there merely as a support base, but fits the theme of the figurine as well. Pity I don’t have an appropriate background for this figurine yet.
