Although so far Umineko wasn’t as thrilling as I expected, I did like the idea of the tea-house sequence at the end of Bad End 1. As mentioned by many, it is very much like Fate S/N’s famous Tiger Dojo, which apart from offering some nonsense comic relief, will offer players tips to avoid Bad End… though the fact that each time you fail will earn you a Tiger Dojo Stamp sort of makes you want to collect all of them… with its promise of extra CGs. As a parallel, from now on I’m going to call this section of Umineko the Beatrice Tea-House…or Umineko’s Rika, Bernkastel Tea House… or just Witch Tea-House lol.
Years ago, “anime” consist only anime of the animated film and the manga, but as of recent years, I daresay that we can officially add visual novel and light novel to this large collective group. Most notable in how anime like Umineko incorporate visual novel traits — soon we might need a new trope for this type of partial-4th-wall breaking.
Also, Shin made an interesting post on it as well.
