The results are pretty much predictable; the only surprise is the order for the top5.
Unsurprisingly Shiki and Gintoki didn’t make it – though it still annoys me. Anyway, here are my choices:
[1. Sakata Gintoki] Huh, what? Lelouch? Who the heck is that, obviously some guy who’s trying too hard to win the poll. Probably going to pull a Yamazaki like in the Popularity Arc, あの野郎!
Gintama’s anime debuts in the same year as Code Geass and Suzumiya Haruhi. However, while Lelouch became the popular choice of favourite bishounen and Kyon became the famous deadpan snarker of anime, Gintoki barely got any coverage. Which was a pity: Tomokazu Sugita was more awesome as Gintoki. When you’re talking about sexy male protagonists, voting for Sakata Gintoki is the obvious choice. Just look at him with his naturally perm head and dead fish eyes that don’t give a heck to his surrounding. So what if there are tons of other bishounen in anime? He’s got his personality (and awesome speeches) to amplify his sexiness. Not to forget his favourite choice of drink, Strawberry Milk, which adds to the portfolio of overall sexiness.
Gintoki is GAR.
[2. Ryougi Shiki] What’s beguiling about her is not just about the fact that she’s the elegant swordswoman in kimono. No, it’s more than that; it’s how she’s subverting the image. It also helps that I like the nonchalant voice portrayed by Maaya Sakamoto. She’s cool as she’s sexy.
Also, THOSE EYES; I’ll let her use her Mystic Eyes and stab my Points of Origin anytime if ya get what I mean’.
[3. Tsukamoto Yakumo] How many of you still remember the sensible imouto and ditzy elder sis pair who exist years before K-ON’s Hirasawa sisters? More specifically, how many of you still remember who Tsukamoto Yakumo is? Sure, she seems more “cute” than actual “sexy”, but remember that time when she wore that maid uniform and that bunny girl costume (though the latter is just Hanai’s delusion)? Pair that up with Mamiko Noto’s signature soft-spoken voice – instant moe.
[4. Kanzaki Kaori] Plain T-shirt and jeans combination equals something very simplistic and generic. Do a bit of modification, throw a nice sword to the waist, add in a pair of cowboy boots – suddenly, Kanzaki Kaori oozes style. What, bad fashion statement you say? Not practical for battles you say? Well, kind sir, you don’t appreciate good fanservice. Sure, I could pick a hold bunch of other characters from series that involve a lot of ‘clothing damages’ (or downright ‘flashing’), but y’know ‘subtlety’ is the key here – though, admittedly, her clothing isn’t all that subtle.
[5. C.C] With CLAMP being responsible for the character designs, I sure am not surprised with how popular she turns out to be. Especially in the art books – ranging from fancy Gothic style clothes to obligatory school uniform zettai ryouiki. Elegant, whimsical and very much sexy. Haughty and mysterious, she sure has all the charms.
Obligatory popularity vote. It’s either her or Senjougahara; I thought Senjougahara would be getting more votes so I went for C.C. Turned out it was the reverse. Oh well, it can’t be help ~ ヽ( ￣д￣;)ノ
